Yesterday was mostly driving from Nelson to Greymouth along the beautiful west coast highway, making lots of stops along the way.
First we stopped to do the 1hr Braeburn track to a small waterfall, through a forest with black-mould covered trees and burnt orange leaves falling along the path.
Another sunny weekend, so you know what that means… another road trip!
This time we’re heading down to Lake Taupo and Mt. Rupehu, and bringing Chesney’s best friend with us. Ryan is heading off to Indonesia for 7 weeks starting this Monday, and is trying to squeeze in some bro time before he goes. I think that’s precious, but I’m not staying home, so we will all be broing it out together.
Ummm… hi there. Remember me? It’s been a while. I’ve been having so much fun in New Zealand, I almost forgot to write about it! That, and it’s mostly just been me going to work and chillin’ with my pals, which doesn’t exactly make for quality writing material.
Since the last time I posted I’ve acquired a boyfriend; life comes atcha fast. He’s super cool and down for adventures so we’ve been visiting different areas around Auckland on the weekends, which has kept me busy. Last night though, we decided we’d change it up a bit and make the 3 hour drive down to Rotorua. Today.
I have a random Thursday off work! Yesterday was ANZAC day (Remembrance Day) which is a public holiday so it’s like I’m having a little weekend mid-week. Life in NZ is good.
You’d think working an entry level job for City Council would ensure the standard 9-5, no over time, off on public holidays kinda life. Not this one!
After exactly one month of being in New Zealand, I have finally found employment.
Moving to another country is exciting, and the kind of adventure I think everyone should go on at least once. I love to relocate. However, it can also be stressful and overwhelming; there’s a lot of things to consider before you go! Here’s a list of some things to know before moving to New Zealand that’ll make the transition as smooth as possible.
Alright so after barely having made my 7am flight from Auckland to Wellington, I made it here in one piece and now have about 5 hours before I can check into my hostel. Grand.
After arriving in Rotorua in the late afternoon, I didn’t have much time to do any exploring yesterday. I settled into my hostel, The Spa Lodge (which is mad cute, by the way) and went to a local pub, Pig and Whistle, for some live music in the evening with my dorm mates.
Ohhhh, my dorm mates.
